Code of Conduct

amUX aims to host inclusive, accessible, safe events that foster curiosity. All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event and all places in which our community meets – be they physical or digital. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.

We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any venue, including talks, Slack, Twitter and other online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the community at the discretion of the organisers.

Need help?

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please immediately message any organizer on Meetup or Slack, or come talk to us directly. We will be happy to help anyone experiencing harassment to feel safe at amUX going forward.

If you would like to anonymously report a problem, you can do so at amux.org/anonymous-feedback. We can’t follow up with you directly, but we will fully investigate it and take whatever action is necessary to prevent a recurrence.

What to Expect

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the community.
